Learn ALL ABOUT EVE with a 35 mm Screening and a Summer Classics Seminar at Bryn Mawr Film Institute

Bryn Mawr, PACome discover the magic behind one of Hollywoods most intriguing classics, All About Eve, with a 35 mm screening on Thursday, June 28 at 7:00 pm. For those who want to learn more about the showbiz drama, Bryn Mawr Film Institute will also host a one-night Summer Classics Seminar at 6:30 pm, taught by Alice Bullitt, M.A. Built around the screening of the film, this seminar will include an introductory lecture, a guided discussion, and readings about the film, in addition to the in-theater screening and popcorn and a drink.
All About Eve stars Bette Davis as Margo Channing, a legendary New York actress whose life and career are slowly taken over by a young fan (Anne Baxter). Winner of six Oscars, including Best Picture and Best Director, All About Eve set the record for receiving the most Oscar nominations of all time, one of which went to Bette Davis for her most memorable performance. In addition to being shown in conjunction with the Summer Classics Seminar, All About Eve is part of Bryn Mawr Film Institutes Whos That Lady? series, which pays tribute to two of Rita Hayworth and Bette Daviss most beloved film performances.
Alice Bullitt will teach this Summer Classics Seminar on All About Eve. Alice received her M.A. in English Literature and Film Studies from Claremont Graduate University in Southern California. She joined Bryn Mawr Film Institutes staff in 2005 and, as Programming Manager, curated the theaters Cinematheque series. Now a member of Bryn Mawr Film Institutes faculty and board, she has taught classes on topics including literary adaptation, melodrama, and portrayals of vampires onscreen.
Summer Classic Seminars are one-night classes that feature an in-theater screening of a classic film with a lecture, a discussion, readings, and popcorn and a drink. In addition to All About Eve, Bryn Mawr Film Institute is offering Summer Classic Seminars on The Apartment (Wednesday, July 11) and All That Heaven Allows (Wednesday, August 8) this summer. Each seminar begins at 6:30 pm in Bryn Mawr Film Institutes second floor Multimedia Room; the films will screen in the theater at 7:00 pm. Tickets for the screening of All About Eve are $10.00 general admission, $7.00 for seniors (65 and over) and students with ID, and $5.00 for Bryn Mawr Film Institute members.
