Born in a hardscrabble South African township, dance prodigy Siphe November gets a chance to pursue his dreams when he’s invited to train at Canada’s prestigious National Ballet School. But as his star rises, Siphe must struggle to balance his ambitions with loyalty to his roots. Punctuated by Siphe’s marvelous performances, this Billy Elliot-esque documentary gives an intimate look at the joys and sacrifices of a unique dancer’s journey.

I’m confused about the timeline! Can you clarify?
Beyond Moving will be available to view on BMFI’s website, but only during a fixed period of time. We call this a viewing window. That viewing window opens at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, December 1, and closes 24 hours later, at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, December 2. During this period, BMFI members can view the film for free, while non-members will have to purchase a $12.00 virtual ticket.
After this viewing window closes, we’ll be doing a digital Q&A with the film’s director. This session will take place at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, December 2.
Do I have to wait until the viewing window opens to get my ticket?
Nope! Tickets may be obtained at any time. The ticket confirmation will include a link and password to access the virtual screening room. However, you’ll only be able to watch the film during the viewing window.
What devices can I use to watch this film? Will I be able to view this film on my television?
During the viewing window, the film can be watched using most internet-connected devices, including computers, laptops, tablets, and smartphones.
The only way to watch this film on a television is by screen mirroring or “casting” from one of the aforementioned devices to your smart TV, or by directly connecting your device to your smart TV using HDMI or VGA cables. For help with this process, please consult the instructions for your smart TV, app, and/or device.
I’m not a BMFI member. Can I view the film and participate in the Q&A?

I obtained a ticket, but now I can’t find my ticket confirmation. How can I access the screening room and Q&A?
The link to the screening room is included in your ticket confirmation, which will have been emailed to you at the time you obtained your ticket. The link to join the Q&A will be e-mailed to you separately on the afternoon of Wednesday, December 2. Please check your inbox, deleted folder, and spam folder.
