During the 1970s, a generation of young country musicians brought a new poetryand a new edgeto the genre, shaping the style known as “outlaw country.” Shot in 1976, this intimate documentary follows outlaw luminaries including Townes van Zandt, Steve Earle, Guy Clark, and David Allan Coe as they spin stories, drink whiskey, and play the songs that would change the course of country music.
