Fellini: The Journey Begins
(NR) Italy/France – 1 hr 44 min – with subtitles
1953 · d. Federico Fellini
Reviews
Starring Franco Interlenghi, Alberto Sordi, Franco Fabrizi, Leopoldo Trieste, Riccardo Fellini

Five young layabouts spend their days hanging out, drinking, womanizing, and dreaming of adventure. But will any of them make it out of their small seaside town? Drawing on the director’s own experiences, this comic, caustic neo-realist drama was Fellini’s first international success and a major inspiration for Martin Scorsese’s Mean Streets and George Lucas’s American Graffiti.

The screening on Thursday, March 28, is presented in conjunction with the film course Early Maestro: The Cinema of Federico Fellini, taught by Maurizio Giammarco, Ph.D. On that date, seating for screening-only attendees will begin at 7:00 pm. Just want to see the film? Purchase your tickets from this page.

Patrons are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance, online, using the showtimes listed below the “Buy Tickets” heading. The Box Office is open for ticket sales 30 minutes prior to the first show of the day.

All screenings at BMFI are open seating.
