Through shard-like glimpses of everyday life in post-Hurricane María Puerto Rico, Landfall is a cautionary tale for our times. Set against the backdrop of protests that toppled the US colony’s governor in 2019, the film offers a prismatic portrait of collective trauma and resistance.
Landfall will be available to screen for free on the BMFI website from 12:00 pm on Sunday, March 21, through 7:00 pm on Wednesday, March 24. Use the TICKETS button above to obtain your ticket. You will not be charged for this transaction.
Join us on Wednesday, March 24, at 7:00 pm, for a digital conversation with director Cecilia Aldarondo. Want to see more of Aldarondo’s work? Check out Memories of a Penitent Heart (2016), also playing as part of the Strange Truth 2021 series. Please note that these events are ticketed separately.
This digital screening is co-presented by The Hurford Center at Haverford College, Swarthmore College, and Bryn Mawr College.

I’m confused about the timeline! Can you clarify?
Landfall will be available to view on BMFI’s website, but only during a fixed period of time. We call this a viewing window. That viewing window opens at 12:00 pm on Sunday, March 21, and closes four days later, at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, March 24. During this period, ticketholders can view the film for free.
Do I have to wait until the viewing window opens to get my ticket?
Nope! Tickets may be obtained at any time. The ticket confirmation will include a link and password to access the virtual screening room. However, you’ll only be able to watch the film during the viewing window.
What devices can I use to watch this film? Will I be able to view this film on my television?
During the viewing window, the film can be watched using most internet-connected devices, including computers, laptops, tablets, and smartphones.
The only way to watch this film on a television is by screen mirroring or “casting” from one of the aforementioned devices to your smart TV, or by directly connecting your device to your smart TV using HDMI or VGA cables. For help with this process, please consult the instructions for your smart TV, app, and/or device.
I obtained a ticket, but now I can’t find my ticket confirmation. How can I access the screening room?
The link to the screening room is included in your ticket confirmation, which will have been emailed to you at the time you obtained your ticket. Please check your inbox, deleted folder, and spam folder. If you’re still unable to find your confirmation, please e-mail JMazer@BrynMawrFilm.org.
