On the island of New Penzance during the summer of ‘65, a pair of twelve-year-old lovebirds flees to a secluded cove to take refuge from the world of grown-ups. As the island’s adults scramble to find them, a storm gathers out at sea, headed for their shores. Bruce Willis, Edward Norton, Bill Murray, and Frances McDormand feature in this heartfelt celebration of youth, adventure, and first love.
Shown in conjunction with the film course The Empathy and Ecstasy of Wes Anderson, Pt. 2, this screening will be introduced by the course’s instructor, Lisa DeNight.
