Exploring the genius of Giuseppe Verdi, journalist/filmmaker August Ventura takes us into the high-stakes opera world of Parma, Italy, using history, anecdotes, interviews, and more. The centerpiece of this multimedia program is a screening of the long-lost documentary “In the Mouth of the Wolf” (1963), following a tumultuous production of Verdi’s Luisa Miller as the cast prepares to face Parma’s notoriously demanding audience.
