Cinema lost a singular voice with the passing of Agnès Varda in March, 2019. Known as “the Godmother of the French New Wave,” Varda spent six decades exploring art, community, and the lives of women, always with adventurous style and warm humanism. We commemorate a true pioneer with four of her best features, each paired with one of her short films. Adieu, Agnès.
Each screening in this series will be introduced by Lisa DeNight.
