Travis Henderson (Harry Dean Stanton) has been missing for years when he wanders out of the West Texas desert. Reunited with his family in L.A., Travis slowly realizes he must return to Texas and face the past he once fled. With a script by Pulitzer-winner Sam Shepard and a haunting Ry Cooder score, Wim Wenders’s Southwestern odyssey won the 1984 Palme d’Or.
