Ho and Lai, a gay couple from Hong Kong, hoped they could find happiness in Buenos Aires. But as Ho’s self-destructive behavior strains their relationship, Lai is drawn to a co-worker. Featuring sensuous, jazzy camerawork and fearless performances from Tony Leung and Leslie Cheung, Happy Together is an impressionistic cinema poem of love and longing.
