Something is rotten in postwar Tokyo! In Kurosawa’s noir-inflected Hamlet riff, a salaryman (Toshirô Mifune) infiltrates the company responsible for his father’s death. But as he draws closer to revenge, unforeseen consequences and human frailty threaten to unravel his plan.
