FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Bryn Mawr Film Institute presents VacCinema™ , featuring designated days for fully vaccinated patrons only, two days per week.
Beginning Sunday, September 12, all films shown on Sundays and Mondays will be available only to moviegoers who are fully vaccinated. Patrons will be asked to show proof of vaccination by presenting their vaccination card or a clear photo of it, as well as photo ID, at the theater’s entrance. Patrons without proof of vaccination will not be admitted and will be given a refund if tickets have already been purchased. All staff in the building on VacCinema days will be fully vaccinated. A negative COVID-19 test will not be accepted in lieu of proof of vaccination.
Bryn Mawr Film Institute is the first movie theater in the Greater Philadelphia region to offer a moviegoing experience for fully vaccinated patrons only. By hosting a fully vaccinated theater two days per week, BMFI hopes that VacCinema will give an extra layer of comfort to our vulnerable neighbors, so they, too, can return to the theater and experience the magic of cinema again. BMFI will not require proof of vaccination for any screenings on Tuesdays through Saturdays at this time.
Visit BMFI’s VacCinema page for full details and currently scheduled programs.
BMFI’s robust health and safety measures remain in place seven days a week. All patrons and staff must wear masks when navigating common areas at BMFI. Patrons may remove their masks while in their individual seats watching the film. All tickets are for reserved seating, with automatic social distancing built into the seat selection process. Popcorn and concessions can be pre-ordered online with movie tickets for no-contact pickup. HVAC systems have been updated with increased fresh air circulation and ozone-free Needlepoint Bipolar Ionization technology to enhance filtration. All theater areas are cleaned and sanitized at regular intervals.
Bryn Mawr Film Institute (BMFI) is a nonprofit, member-supported motion picture theater and film education center located in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, in the western suburbs of Philadelphia.
