In 1941, the status quo of a rural Ukrainian shtetl is shaken when a young filmmaker returns from Kyiv to reunite with his beloved. No one suspects that the Nazi invasion of the USSR is just 24 hours away. Featuring Yiddish dialogue, filmed in one unbroken shot in a reconstructed traditional Jewish village, SHTTL depicts a way of life on the brink of its disappearance.
