Across the Waters is told from the perspective of Arne (David Dencik) and Miriam (Danica Curcic), a young Jewish couple attempting to escape Copenhagen with their son. This tense thriller also follows the stories of the local men and women who risked their lives to aid their journey, shedding light on one of the most daring rescue missions in WWII history.
With beautifully haunting cinematography and an assured and evocative score, this gripping period drama examines humanity’s most sublime and bestial elements when confronted by its own mortality.

Through the medium of film, the Philadelphia Jewish Film Festival aims to perpetuate Jewish values, culture, and history, and gain a deeper understanding of the world and the ways in which people can make a difference. PJFF returns to BMFI for another thought-provoking program.
